Starting this summer, we are opening up parts of it so you can experience the exhibition as it takes shape.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Those who shaped the glass and the glass that shaped us<\/h4>\n<p>Glass has been a companion to humankind for nearly 5,000 years. During this time, we have learned to master its production and its expressive possibilities. Knowledge which has had a decisive impact on how we understand and experience the world.<\/p>\n<p>Glass has enabled scientific breakthroughs, illumination, and technologies for communication. In the glassmaking regions, it has provided livelihoods, identity, and a sense of belonging. It surrounds us all in everyday life, in jars and bottles, in windows that let in the light, and in the glasses we raise in a toast.<\/p>\n<p>The stories of glass are endless, here begins one of them.<\/p>\n<h4>Further Information<\/h4>\n<p>While some sections are still under construction, there is already plenty to discover. This summer, we are also offering guided tours with the museum&#8217;s glass curator.
