Human/Glass

  • Swedish Glass Museum, Växjö
Upcoming exhibition! In the summer of 2026, we are opening up parts of what will become our next major exhibition on glass.
Human/Glass
We are currently building a new glass exhibition. Starting this summer, we are opening up parts of it so you can experience the exhibition as it takes shape.

Those who shaped the glass and the glass that shaped us

Glass has been a companion to humankind for nearly 5,000 years. During this time, we have learned to master its production and its expressive possibilities. Knowledge which has had a decisive impact on how we understand and experience the world.

Glass has enabled scientific breakthroughs, illumination, and technologies for communication. In the glassmaking regions, it has provided livelihoods, identity, and a sense of belonging. It surrounds us all in everyday life, in jars and bottles, in windows that let in the light, and in the glasses we raise in a toast.

The stories of glass are endless, here begins one of them.

Further Information

While some sections are still under construction, there is already plenty to discover. This summer, we are also offering guided tours with the museum’s glass curator. Please see our events calendar for current dates and times.
